Baskets of Peace

 

The Baskets of Peace Program won a local government award in 2019 for promoting unity and reconciliation in the community. The program brings together women who were Genocide survivors and perpetrators.

 

A group of 25 local women have been trained by MSI in the tradition of basket weaving, they are now at a professional level and sell their beautiful baskets in Rwanda and Australia.

 

The women are able to generate an income for themselves and their families through selling their amazing baskets.
